HMD launches Nokia phone beta labs; announces Android Oreo beta for Nokia 8

Nokia fans are in for a treat, especially those who own Nokia 8. HMD Global has announced Nokia phone beta labs, under which it will start public beta testing of Android Oreo for Nokia 8.

The Nokia phone beta labs has been designed for early adapters to experience unreleased software and in return testers have to provide feed back. Expect to encounter bugs.

To remind you Oreo was being tested on Nokia 8 internally. Earlier HMD CPO Juho Sarvikas shared screenshots of Nokia 8 running Android Oreo beta build. But now anyone who owns a Nokia 8, interested to test Oreo before the official release can join Nokia phones beta labs.

Meanwhile, HMD CPO Juho Sarvikas also confirmed that the Nokia 3, 5 an 6 will be added to Oreo Beta program in the near future.

As a reminder, Android Oreo brings new features like Picture-in-Picture (PiP), notification channels,adaptive icons, circular dot, along with bug fixes, security improvement and enhancements to improve the device's performance.
