New update brings October 2017 security patch for Nokia 3

HMD Global is rolling out a new update to the entry-level Nokia 3, that bumps the Android security patch level to October 2017. The update is out for Nokia 3 TA-1032 variant in India, but unfortunately it's not Android 7.1.2.

To remind you, few days back Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 received Android 7.1.2 update along with October security patch, while the Nokia 8 only received only the latest security patch.

Alongside October security patch, the new update for Nokia 3 also brings improved system stability and user-interface enhancements. The UI enhancements include the reshaped Google search box, which is not rounded instead of square.

The update is rolling out over-the-air and weighs in at 401.MB in size. You will either be notified to download this update, or you can do a manual check by going to Settings > About phone > System updates. HMD has already promised Android Oreo for Nokia 3.

To recap the specs, the Nokia 3 features 5-inch HD display, quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 8MP front and rear camera, dual-SIM slot, 4G LTE, 2650mAh battery, and the usual connectivity suite. It is available in India via offline stores at Rs. 9,499.
